Austin, Texas, police are investigating after security cameras captured video of the thief carrying out a laptop and a projector from a Seton Family of Hospitals office.......

More and more people carry their office work to home. Like this guy, me too ;)

Security is very important on this mobile computer. Therefore why Sony invent on figure print technology to ensure the laptop safe.
Apart from the security, how about backup? did this guy backed up their hospital's clients information?

Online backup is definitely the best solution for backing up these kind of mobile computers. Although it's a bit expensive ;)

I can't think about how they can minimize their hardware cost.
I think they are not all storage hardware using Disk. but tape to backup old data to minimize their cost. Or may be they are manufactoring disk storage, so they get the lowest price?

MozyPro sign contract with GE !!

A 25-employee startup in Utah has snared a multimillion-dollar contract to provide massive General Electric Co. with software that automatically backs up files on office computers, jolting a market that appears to be getting hot...... From a news on internet.

What do I think? it's more than gimmic. "GE declined to comment, but people familiar with the situation said the company had been backing up its PCs with software from more established vendors, including Iron Mountain Inc."
MozyPro only has ability to backup "simple" files like word document, excel, email, etc. However, It still worth to give a award to Mozy, because this kind of start-up willing to try! I like it, really!

Mozy doesn't like other online back service providers. Those providers are no guts, no vision. Online backup market of lower end users like you and me is huge! Nowadays they charge $4.95 per month for 10GB storage. Think about just charge $0.95 per month, you get near $12 per year. 250GB get 25 customers, you earn $300 per year. it already cover all the storage cost. Then you add some extra value, you got your profit. like hosting, file sharing, email, web design, maintenance, etc.
